We've got some great news to share! Legendary Neutral Milk Hotel frontman Jeff Mangum is returning to the stage after a number of years away, and 2640 is honored to host his two Baltimore shows, on September 26 & 27! Tickets go on sale Wednesday, and will disappear fast. Read on below for details.
We at 2640 and the Baltimore shows organizer, Todd Lesser of Monozine Presents, have tried to make sure that tickets will be as affordable as possible, and that they be available to local Baltimore folks. Tickets will be sold this coming Wednesday, June 22, at Red Emma's Bookstore Coffeehouse and online at missiontix.com. It's our hope that selling some of the tickets at Red Emma's will make it easier for people in the local community who want tickets to get them.
"Tickets" sold at Red Emma's are not physical tickets- they are will-call only. They will be available at the store and online at noon on June 22, and only available online after June 22. They will be $27 each, cash only, at the store. Tickets will be sold online at www.missiontix.com. There is a limit of 2 tickets per person purchasing. Questions about ticketing should be directed to Monozine Presents, info@monozine.com or 410-444-8577. Questions about the venue should be directed to 2640@redemmas.org.
Important: at the time of purchase, you must provide both your name and the name of the person using the ticket, or if you buy two, the name of the person using each ticket. The ticket names will be checked against id at the door on the night of the event. If your name does not match the name associated with your ticket, you will not get in. You may buy only one ticket per person (ie, one person may not attend both shows).
$1 per ticket will benefit Children of the Blue Sky, http://www.eternalblueskyofmongolia.org
Recording and photography: at Jeff's request, recording and photography of any kind (including phone) is not allowed. Please respect his wishes and don't do it! You will have to leave the show if you do.
Alcohol: as with all of 2640's large shows, these shows are dry- no alcohol, no byo allowed. Much as we don't enjoy enforcing this rule, it is essential to 2640's continued existence as a show venue, and we need to be strict about it. Please, observe our rules about alcohol and don't bring it to these or other shows that we specify as dry. Thank you!!
Doors will open at 6 pm on each night. Show will begin at 7:30. Special guest artists TBA. All ages welcome!
