WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!
WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!
Dear Friends,
For six years, the Indypendent Reader has been Baltimore's only independent, progressive, and collectively-managed media source. To date, IR has published 15 print issues that have offered in-depth and serious analysis on critical topics, such as the state of public education, gentrification, the criminal justice system, and more.
Our latest issue, which was released this May, does what few other local media projects would dare do: offers in-depth analysis on the social movements breathing life into Baltimore's progressive potential. One of our primary goals for this summer is to distribute 5,000 copies of the new social movements issue throughout Baltimore's more than 200 neighborhoods. Due to the cost of printing the new issue and other expenses, we are in desperate need of immediate financial assistance. We are asking for your support.
We offer our print issues for free, but they are not free to produce. The new issue cost $470 to print, which is a considerable amount of money for a small, all-volunteer project. We are asking you to help keep IR alive and well by making a generous donation. Without your help we will have to make difficult choices in the coming months, which could jeopardize the vitality of the project. This would be a major loss for a city in desperate need of alternatives to the mainstream corporate press and its ideological stranglehold.
We estimate that in order to cover all of our costs for the next year – which includes printing at least two issues, purchasing new media technology, maintaining our office space, and more – we must raise at least $5,000. Please consider supporting the Indypendent Reader by donating $100 or more. If you are unable to do so, we would gratefully accept less. Every little bit helps!
We accept paypal donations and checks. Please make check payable to Fusion Partnerships and write “Indypendent Reader”in the check memo line. Checks should be mailed to the following address: 1601 Guilford Ave #2 South, Baltimore, MD 21202. To pay with Paypal, click the button below:
Thank you in advance for your generosity. And thank you for helping us to continue contributing to the necessary task before us all: building a new Baltimore on the vacant lots of old.
Sincerely,
The Indypendent Reader Collective (John Duda, Corey Reidy, Clayton Conn, Aimee Pohl, Stephen Roblin, and Andy Ford)
